What a Summit!

by: Allan Thræn

So, now 3 days of learning, mingling and partying is over - and although exhausted I'm still high after attending such a great EPiServer Partner / Developer summit. It was really a pleasure to see and meet so many old and new friends, partners, colleagues and fellow bloggers (and even a few celebrities: the EMVPs). The location was beautiful, weather amazing, activities exciting and the beer.....well, at least it was cold, but unfortunatly mostly swedish.

A few of the sessions that really enchanted me was Magnus and Pauls sessions on Dynamic Content (the-feature-formerly-known-as-epifields-totally-redone) and especially PageProviders. I really can't wait to play around with those - and I already have a list of the first couple of providers I'm going to make.

Norwegian EPiGuru, Steve, did a quite insightful session on performance troubleshooting in EPiServer that left me with a few ideas of improvements, I'll try to share in this blog later on. Personally, I got the chance to entertain for half an hour with my reflections on building a Wiki on EPiServer. I'll try to put a running example of it online soon and post about it.

On top of it all the evening mingling and partying left room for quite a few geek-2-geek talks that I'm sure will result in at least a few new research projects :-)

So - summarized: lots of fun and good inspiration! Thanks to everybody who helped out making this such a fantastic event!

P.S. Another really cool thing I noticed on the summit was that Creuna now has released all of their EPiServer code, the CreunaPlatform, under a dual license (open source / commercial). This is really great news. I hope it will inspire other partners to do the same. I already signed up to download the library and will blog my opinion as soon as I've had a chance to check it out - but don't hesitate to start using it yourself now.
