EPiServer CMS 5 SP1 - Hotfix 1 is available

by: Mari Jørgensen

A lot of you Norwegian developers (and editors) are probably aware of the bug referred to as "the norwegian date problem", officially known as #8099 - Error while parsing a date in Norwegian format.

If you have selected Norwegian as your user language and try to copy and paste a page that has been published later that the 12th in a month, EPiServer will throw an exeption.

There is now a hotfix that solves the issue, it can be downloaded here: http://www.episerver.com/CMS5_SP1/hotfix1

NOTE: This hotfix should only be applied if you are affected by the problem described. This hotfix only applies to sites that run EPiServer CMS 5 SP1.

  1. To bad the hotfix isn't that hot after all hehehe :) All pages published before the 12th of a month gets the month and day switched when you copy a page. EPiServer have been informed.
  2. Yes, this was a bit unfortunate. Good news is that the exceptions are gone, and that Alphabetical sorting with norwegian characters (ÆÅØ etc) now works as it should. Hopefully we'll get an updated Hotfix soon.
