EPiServer File links on Vista

by: Ruwen Jin

EPiServer has already a static file handler by default. That is before IIS 7. IIS7 includes a static file handler as well. Right now you need disable IIS 7 static file handler to make EPiServer  file links to work. Here is how:

open your IIS Manager on Vista and choose "handler mappings":

double click and choose "static files"

and double click

and click on "Request Restrictions" button

and unselect "invoke handler only if request is mapped to:"

  1. This isn't related to the post - I just didn't see any easier way of contacting you! :) I tried to post this under "Site bugs", but I seem to lack the necessary permissions... Anyways, when clicking a tag in the tag cloud, posts are displayed in ascending (first to last) order - wouldn't it be better to sort it in descending order, displaying the most recent blog post first?
  2. I read your posts on getting the filelinks working on iis7, and I'm getting closer. About the only thing working right now is serving aspx-pages, everything else gets a 404. My web.config says this: Correct?
  3. I couldn't quote html tags... lovely. I'll email you.
