EPiTrace for EPiServer CMS 5

Here is the EPiTrace package for EPiServer CMS 5. Download

(Updated with alt attribute in img tag)

and install it by using EPiServer Manager.

Then you need run

against your EPiServer database.

    2. I get an exception. System.Exception: Cannot install files: The installation failed, and the rollback has been performed. [Object reference not set to an instance of an object.]

    3. Just do it manually. I had the same problem. I've copied the files manually and now it works. But there is other problem that I can't resolve. Sometimes when viewing the epitrace page appears the browser's login window. Does anyone know what causes this strange behaviour? It appears only on episerver 5 sites.

    4. The reason the installation of the package fails for some is because EPiTrace.dll inside the package cannot be installed in the GAC if the referenced assemblies are not there already. To fix this issue create an offline installation of EPiServer CMS 5 R1 (5.1.422.4) and rename the package to a zip file. Extract all assemblies from the bin folder and drag & drop them to c:\windows\assemblies. After adding the version EPiTrace is compiled against installation will work fine. When you run EPiTrace it will follow the binding redirect rules in web.config and use the newer version.

    5. I got it all working after a manual installation of the zip-file, but when I look att the EPiTracePage there is no visitors. Have I missed something? In the 4.61 version there was a initiation script in the default frameworkpage... Our EPiTracepage: http://www.kristianstad.se/EPiTrace/application.aspx

    6. It works fine now! I think it was the database. I had the old table from the 4.61 version. I deleted the old table and run the new script again, then it start counting visitors. Thanks a lot!

    7. Now it should work with installer on any version of EPiServer.
